Currently, I am Teaching & Coordinating Environmental Sciences at the Asian University for Women (AUW) – an international university located in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Before joining AUW, I have taught (from 2000 to 2015) courses related to aquatic environmental sciences in a reputed university on life sciences in Bangladesh ‐ the Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU). So far, I have taught undergraduate and graduate courses related to Environmental Sciences, namely ‘Ecology’, ‘Environmental Chemistry & Toxicology’, ‘Inland Fisheries Conservation & Management’, ‘Fisheries Resources & Conservation’, ‘Oceanography & Marine Biology’, ‘Global Climate Change’, ‘Environmental Challenges in Asia’, ‘Climate Change & Fisheries’, etc. Moreover, from February 2012, I have lead establishment of a new interdisciplinary centre at BAU named Interdisciplinary Centre for Food Security (ICF) and have provided important oversight in development of a Master Degree Program in Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security.
My research interests include three broad areas, as follows:
- AQUATIC ECOTOXICOLOGY
- CLIMATE CHANGE IMPACTS
- AQUATIC CONSERVATION BIOLOGY
